Edward is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has been involved with the sponsorship industry since 1970, having been Alan Pascoe's business partner for the last 30 years. Major projects have included: founding partner of Major League Soccer in the USA, involving the management of the successful DC United Team; rights marketing and event management with the Commonwealth Games since Auckland 1990.

On the sports front, Edward obtained a silver medal in the Flying Dutchman Olympic Class at the 1970 World Championships and subsequently came fourth in the Soling Class at the 1984 and 1988 Olympics. Edward is Chairman of the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, the official 2012 sailing event venue.

"Being a sailing fan, I sail most weekends and as Chairman of our first completed 2012 Olympic venue gives me the opportunity to drive the legacy agenda at the Academy where we are now annually giving thousands of school children the opportunity to learn to sail for £5. We may even find a future Olympic Champion!"
