With six years in management consultancy training behind him, Jon competed for the Great Britain hockey team at the Atlanta and Sydney Olympics, where he captained the side. When his international hockey career came to an end after the 2002 Commonwealth Games, Jon chose a move into sports marketing. He spent four years with Lighthouse Communications, putting his experiences on both sides of the sponsorship fence to use for Lucozade Sport, Polar and helping G4S set up a global sports marketing campaign. He now runs the GSK business within the Consulting Division at Fast Track.

Jon lives in Barnes with his wife Annalea and when he is not desperately hanging onto a competitive hockey career with Barnes in the Hampshire and Surrey League Division 1, he is likely to be found training for a triathlon in Richmond Park, or desperately trying to reduce his handicap on the golf course.

"As an ex-athlete and keen endurance event participant, I have seen the impact that first-class sports marketing campaigns can have on the average man in the street, right up to the sportsmen and women themselves. My decision to move out of the hardnosed world of management consulting and into sports marketing is one that I am very happy with."

"Developing original campaigns with clients to make the most of the opportunities that sport and, specifically, the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012, offers me a chance to stay connected with the world of Olympic sport that was for so long my sole focus."
