Visa Paralympic World Cup
Overview
In 2005, Fast Track working in conjunction with Manchester City Council, the BBC, the British Paralympic Association and the International Paralympic Committee created the Paralympic World Cup, a new event designed to be the leading annual global disability sports championship.
Our Role
Fast Track was appointed by PWC as the Rights Marketing Agency responsible for securing funding, sponsorship and broadcast coverage.
Activity
Fast Track secured funding for an initial 3 year period through UK Sport, Manchester City Council and the Northwest Regional Development Agency. Sponsorship revenues were generated through a Title Sponsorship deal with Visa Europe and a raft of technical suppliers.
Results
The Visa Paralympic World Cup has been taken from the drawing board to being a prominent International event in just two years. In 2005, the event was broadcast to 154 countries and has recently secured new broadcast commitments.
